Jackpots UK - How do Slot Tournaments Work?
 |
Slot tournaments are rapidly becoming a favorite pastime for many people worldwide. They offer people the atmosphere of the casino mixed with a friendly competition, while giving competitors a chance to play slot machines without dumping their entire savings into them. The winnings can be very large, and there are often other prizes and activities as well.
These easy tournaments require no special kinds of skills except perhaps concentration and fast reflexes. It’s important to remember that there is a limited time to play a lot of credits, and any unused credits are not given back to the player. You also don’t get extra time to play those, nor can you play free credits. So you have to stay focused.
Here is how the tournament works:
First, the tournament committee will assign you a machine where you will play all your credits. This machine is preset to freeze after all credits have been played. You will then have a set time to complete play, usually between fifteen and thirty minutes. Second, after you are done playing all your credits or your time is up, a tournament official will record your score and you will verify it.
It’s just that simple. Remember that you will have a limited time to play, so you should adopt some rules of your own for the game time. Here are a few to consider:
1. Stay focused. Don’t look at other people’s scores or let your mind wander.
2. It’s only 15 to 30 minutes--leave drinks and snacks behind. These cost time and you can do without them for a few minutes.
3. Keep you hand on “Spin” so you can just keep the score moving forward and keep your credits rolling.
4. Make sure you have had a good meal before the tournament so you aren’t distracted by hunger.
5. Make sure you have gone to the bathroom!
Many entries to competitions are gotten by being a frequent gambler at a certain casino, or by participating in high stakes games and are only by invitation. However, there are many tournaments open to the public, and these tournaments are the ones most people enter. If you have to pay an entry fee, try to get one that pays back all the fees in prizes. These tournaments are usually sponsored by casinos that are trying to get new business or increase the attendance from their other customers, so they are willing to take a bit of a loss for it. You can tell the ones that are returning all the prize money because they will have perhaps 100 players at an entry fee of $100, so the return in prize money should be $10,000.
If you find one where there is little return for the players, this one is totally for the profit of the hotel/casino, and you have to decide of you want to be in that kind of tournament. They don’t offer much in the way of fun, and are simply there to rake in profits instead of building business through increasing traffic. Many people avoid those tournaments and instead play the multiple prize tournaments where there is also a great deal of entertainment offered. It’s as important to have fun as to win money, and if you do both you’re going to have double the fun.
Many of these tournaments also offer other prizes as well, and they are very popular with special tour groups and travelers. There are parties, special banquets, room discounts (sometimes free rooms), and discounts on food as well with some of the tournaments. Make sure you shop around for the best value for your entry fee, as well as the most fun.
